Alcott Routon Veterans Combine to Form New Agency

by Jim Alcott 4. June 2009 17:43
NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- On April 1, 2009, Alcott Whitney, a
Franklin, TN-based marketing agency, officially launched. Agency principals
Jim Alcott and Rebecca Whitney have assembled a team of talented professionals
to develop and execute marketing campaigns that "move the meter" for the
firm's clients--a promise delivered through a combination of superior strategy
and analytics, relentless innovation, and a strong commitment to partnership.

Alcott and Whitney both held management positions with Alcott Routon, the
Nashville-based direct marketing agency that Alcott co-founded in 1994, and
the new agency employs several other veterans from the former agency. Alcott
Routon served as the primary direct marketing agency for ten of the nation's
forty largest banks and several national brands across other industries.
Alcott served as CEO of the 50-person agency until 2007. Alcott Routon was
acquired by San Antonio-based, Clarke American Checks, Inc. in 2004.

Ted McCoig has joined the firm as Creative Director. Ted most recently served
as co-founder of Ivey McCoig Creative Partners. His career has provided the
opportunity to work on some premier accounts including HSBC, KinderCare,
National Federation of Independent Business, National City Bank, and Marriott
Vacation Club. Rebecca Whitney explains, "We couldn't be more thrilled that
Ted has agreed to join us. He'll play a huge role in our future success."

While the agency will offer many of the services traditionally provided by the
former Alcott Routon including database, analytics and modeling, and direct
mail, the new agency provides a broader offering with specific emphasis in the
interactive arena. "A lot has changed since we launched Alcott Routon in the
nineties. This new agency is better equipped to help clients leverage all the
tactics available to drive ROI," says Alcott.

The new agency is part of Good Work Studios, also formed by Alcott and
Whitney. As a Good Work Studios company, the agency is committed to ensuring
that no stakeholder is exploited for the benefit of another--clients, vendors,
employees, and the community are all treated fairly and with respect--and to
donate at least 50% of profits every year to non-profit groups and worthwhile
causes.

Alcott Whitney (www.alcottwhitney.com) is a results-focused marketing agency
that moves the meter for its clients through a combination of superior
strategy and analytics, relentless innovation, and a strong commitment to
partnership.
